A Thorney war games business that was forced to close when it lost a planning appeal is now back in business and will be opening soon.

Battlefield Live, based at Old Hall Farm, French Drove, had a revised planning application approved by Peterborough City Council yesterday.

The original application was turned down by councillors following objections by residents concerned about noise.

The revised application was for a games arena about half the size of the original and surrounded by 2m high acoustic fencing. The application also included car parking and conversion of barns to a reception areas and refreshments room.

Battlefield Live allows groups to play war games against each other, but unlike paintball, it uses guns firing bolts of infra-red light to score hits on the opposition. It was rated number one in Peterborough in the Fun and Games category on Trip Advisor.
